At its 74th General Assembly, held in Stockholm in late August, The International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) elected Dr. József Váncza, Head of the Research Laboratory on Engineering & Management Intelligence at HUN-REN SZTAKI, as Vice President-Elect.
According to CIRP regulations, this means that he will assume the role of Vice President after one year, followed by a one-year term as President, and subsequently serve as Past President.
The ceremonial opening of the General Assembly took place at the Stockholm Concert Hall, the venue of the Nobel Prize Award Ceremonies, in a setting reminiscent of the Nobel celebrations.
On stage, alongside prominent Swedish public figures, sat the current leaders and former presidents of the Academy, including József Váncza, member of the CIRP Council, and László Monostori, Director of HUN-REN SZTAKI, who served as President of CIRP from 2013 to 2014.
