József Váncza, Head of the Research Laboratory for Engineering & Management Intelligence at SZTAKI, lead researcher of Coprologs, was elected as a member of the CIRP Council at the 71st General Assembly of the organisation.
The 71st General Assembly of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) was held in Bilbao, Spain, from 21 to 27 August 2022. Among the topics highlighted were the circular economy, 3D bionic printing and simulation of metalworking. The CIRP board has six members, József Váncza is currently the only Hungarian member. Last autumn he was elected Vice-Chair of the Editorial Board of CIRP Annals - Manufacturing Technology.
CIRP has four Hungarian Fellow members: László Monostori, Director of SZTAKI (former CIRP President); Gábor Stépán, Professor at BME; Botond Kádár, CEO of EPIC InnoLabs; and József Váncza. Professor László Cser, Fellow Emeritus, and Gábor Erdős, Associate Member, Deputy Head of Research Laboratory, Laboratory of Engineering & Management Intelligence.
